This club is a Rare and very finely
carved/finished/detailed Traditional Samoan Toothed War Club called a FA'ALAUFA'I
(in the Samoan language). It is very authentic in design. This particular
club is made from the now very rare Samoan hardwood BAU WOOD which is presently
only surviving in a small area on the west end of Savaii Island. It is a very
hard, heavy and smooth-finished wood. In Olden Times Bau Wood was always used
for High Chiefs' War Clubs. It is beautifully carved with the old traditionally
intricate Samoan designs from top to bottom all around the club.
