This
club is a Rare and VERY finely carved/finished/detailed TRADITIONAL SAMOAN
Spiked War Club called a TAFESILAFA'I (in the Samoan language) or NAFANUA'S
Club. It is in the legends of old Samoa that the lady God of War Nafanua
used a Tafesilafa'i club in her battle on Savaii Island (the largest
island of Samoa). Her Tafesilafa'i club was buried with her when she died on
Savaii Island.
This Tafesilafa'i war club was made from the local ironwood tree (IFILELE tree)
and is therefore heavy in weight. It has Very Fine & skillfully done hand-carved
Authentic Traditional designs all around and sennet, which is 3-strand braided
coconut fiber, wrapped around the handle. It is 36" long.
