This club is a Rare and very finely
carved/finished/detailed Traditional Samoan Toothed War Club called a TALAVALU
(in the Samoan language) or 8-SPIKE TALAVALU. It is very authentic
in design. This particular club is made from the now very rare Samoan hardwood
BAU WOOD which is presently only surviving in a small area on the west end
of Savaii Island. It is a very hard, heavy and smooth-finished wood. It is
beautifully carved with the old traditionally intricate Samoan designs from
top to bottom all around the club.
